The club's staff would like to wish everyone a happy holiday season and great start to 2017!
This year saw some major changes in youth soccer, including the birth year registration change; however, we believe the club has made important strides in helping to keep at the forefront of youth soccer. Below is a brief recap of some of the most exciting developments of 2016.
As a result of our players continuing to learn and develop through our system, our teams have reached new heights in their accomplishments. Numerous teams experienced success in some of the most competitive leagues and tournaments in the region and nation, including our U15 Boys Red team that made it to the Final Four of this year's State Cup.
On the training ground, we've added in well-received training components, such as additional technical staff at training sessions, which has allowed weekly on-field teaching support to our coaches. In addition, the club has expanded its GK training program to weekly sessions for U11+ GKs to learn goalkeeper-specific technical and tactical skills.
Finally, the club has continued to be a leader in futsal in the region and nation. We hosted our first "America's" Futsal Cup in November, which garnered high praise for the quality of our teams and tournament organization. Our Futsal ID continue to grow and expand to provide our outdoor players the opportunity to continue their growth indoors during the winter months.
Looking forward into the Spring and Summer of 2017, the club is excited to expand its international program with a trip to Barcelona and Milan for the 2002-2004 boys and girls to play against top competition in Europe. In addition, ASA will take new steps by collaborating with experts in teaching fields domestically and internationally to fine tune our teaching approach in support of our top-notch learning environment.
