U5/U6 Ball Mastery
What is U5/U6 Ball Mastery?
The U5/U6 Ball Mastery program is offered each fall and spring season and designed to expose young players to the structure and learning environment set by professional trainers. This creates the opportunity for players to enhance their soccer knowledge and skills while building a solid technical foundation and enjoyment for the game.
The main objective of our coaches and this program is to create a learning environment that is both productive and fun. We strive to set a framework for our young players to learn how to train by giving effort while having fun learning the game. We believe learning in a fun and productive environment will help to prepare our youngest players for long-term involvement in the sport. Our focus is to improve general coordination and body awareness, improve individual ball control and dribbling skills, introduce basic passing concepts, and foster creativity.
Ball Mastery sessions are offered in the fall and spring of each year (coinciding with the rec soccer seasons).
Hour-long training sessions will take place once per week for 7 weeks on city fields. It is highly recommended that kids in the skills program also play on a recreation soccer team to continue to build skills and game experience. ASA rec league coaches are asked not to schedule team practice during this time frame, so this additional training should not interfere with a player’s weekly rec team practice.
