REFEREE TRAINING – SPRING 2014
ASA will be conducting referee training for those wishing to ref for ASA recreational league games. This training will allow those who graduate to referee ASA recreational games for ages U9 through U12 as both a center referee and an assistant referee (linesperson).
IMPORTANT NOTE: This training permits you to referee ASA games for one year (Spring and Fall of 2014). If you would like to continue to referee games in 2015 you must obtain either a Grade 8 or Grade 9 referee certification from USSF. Dates: Monday, Feb. 24th; Monday, March 3rd; Monday, March 10th (must attend all three classes)
Time: 7:30 - 9:30PM
Where: Nannie J. Lee Recreation Center (1108 Jefferson Street)
Cost: $25 (checks payable to ASA)
Prerequisites: (1) Strong preference for players 13 years old and up (will consider players who are 12 years old but turning 13 in 2013 if they are mature for their age); (2) Must be a soccer player (preference given to ASA players).
Requirements for Passing the Course: (1) Must demonstrate in class the necessary maturity to be a referee; (2) Must pass final written examination; (3) Must pass whistle test; (4) Must referee 6 games this Spring; and (5) Must participate in one of the ASA training sessions conducted on a gameday this Spring.
Number of students: Limited to 12
