Current ASA Outreach Coordinator PJ Park is transitioning into a new role within the club this Spring. To fill his current role Alexandria Soccer Association (ASA) seeks a well-qualified, passionate and motivated individual to fill the position of Community Outreach and Marketing Director starting May 1st, 2017 (or earlier). This is a full-time salaried position with full benefits that has non-standard hours. This position reports directly to the Executive Director (ED) and is responsible for coordinating all outreach support for the community and marketing the club programs, events and initiatives. A core objective of the position is to ensure all sectors of our community, especially marginalized groups (African, Latino, African-American, particularly girls), are aware of ASA programs and have access to participate.

ASA offers recreational, futsal and travel soccer, as well as numerous supplemental programs and community building initiatives throughout the year for over 5,000 players. ASA has established a strong presence and quality reputation within the Alexandria and surrounding communities. The club has attracted and built an impressive and loyal group of office, technical and coaching staff and is looking to build on and broaden the quality of the current ASA outreach programming with a new Outreach and Marketing Director. One of ASA’s objectives is to serve all of the youth of Alexandria and surrounds, regardless of their financial, linguistic, cultural, or transportation status. Our various outreach programs and initiatives bring soccer to over 2,000 kids/year, giving the gift of soccer to many kids who would otherwise not be exposed to organized soccer programming, and provide a bridge to participation in our core programs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in marketing, athletics, sociology, or other relevant field.

  • Program management, at least one year.

  • Marketing experience, at least one year.

  • Fluency in Spanish is preferred.

  • Licensure: Not required, though the USSF “E” license or NSCAA equivalent is helpful (or equivalent foreign licensure), and National Youth License (or plans to acquire the National Youth License within 12 months).

  • Coaching/Mentoring experience preferred.

  • All ASA staff must pass annual background checks.

  • Ability to relate to and motivate youth and adults

  • Demonstrated integrity and reliance on ethically sound standards

  • Flexibility to working a non-traditional work schedule

  • Proven computer skills, including word, excel, powerpoint and email.

  • Experience in managing and presenting data

Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.
